Terms and Conditions

Definitions:

• · The Company: Goodchild Roofing.

• · The Customer: The individual(s) or entity entering into the contract.

• · The Services: All work undertaken by the Company.

• · Contract Price: The agreed quoted price, plus the cost of agreed Variations or Extras.

• · Installation: All goods and services provided.

• · Variation: Any amendment, addition, or alteration to the original quoted works.

• · Extras: Additional goods and services requested by the Customer.

• · Completion: When the installation work is finished.

• · Estimate: An indicative, non-binding evaluation of time and cost.
  
  

Terms:

1. Entire Agreement
This contract constitutes the entire agreement. Any changes must be made in writing and signed by both parties.

2. Scope of Works & Right to Terminate
The Company agrees to provide the services as quoted. If the site conditions make it impossible to proceed, the Company may terminate the contract and charge for completed work and materials. Alternatively, Variations may be agreed in writing to allow completion.

3. Access & Facilities
The Customer must provide access, power, water, and storage space. If access is not granted, the Company may treat the contract as cancelled and seek full payment.

4. Timelines
While the Company aims to meet estimated timelines, delays may occur. Time is not of the essence, and the Company will not be liable for any delay-related losses.

5. External Factors
The Company is not liable for delays or damages caused by adverse weather, illness, injury, or unforeseen circumstances beyond its control.

6. Weather Protection & Damage
The Company will take reasonable steps to keep the building weatherproof but is not liable for water or wind damage unless a temporary roof is agreed and paid for. The Customer is responsible for protecting possessions during the works.

7. Minor Internal Damage
Minor cracking or cosmetic damage may occur during works. The Company will not be liable for redecoration costs.

8. Payment Terms
Deposits must be paid 7 days before works begin (if requested). Final payment is due upon completion. Invoices will include any agreed Variations or Extras. Late payments incur interest at 8% above NatWest base rate.

9. VAT
VAT will be charged at the appropriate rate on all payments.

10. Guarantees
Guarantees (if applicable) will be issued within 14 days of full payment. Insurance-backed guarantees are issued directly by the insurer and not controlled by the Company.

11. Right to Suspend Works
If payment is not made on time, the Company may suspend work without notice until payment is received. The Customer is liable for any costs incurred due to this suspension.

12. Retention of Title
All materials remain the property of the Company until paid for in full.

13. Permissions
The Customer is responsible for obtaining any necessary planning permissions, approvals, or consents before works begin.

14. Limit of Expertise
The Customer acknowledges that the Company is not engaged to provide structural or architectural advice.
